Residents in San Diego county area today thought they had experienced an earthquake after hearing a loud thunder-like noise, it turns out the actual cause came from an airplane.

Researchers at the United States Geological Survey started investigating the incident immediately after it had occurred and they soon discovered that the actual cause was a sonic boom created more than likely by a high speed military aircraft.
