Tuesday, January 19, 2010 by Anne
The Cayman Islands experienced earthquake this morning with a 5.8 magnitude that hit at 9:23 a.m.. The Cayman Islands are located south of Cuba, over 500 miles west of Haiti.

There have been no major damages reported from the Cayman Islands. Buildings shook and phone lines were down.

Though there have been no casualties reported so far, people have reason to be on edge considering Haiti’s earthquake last week, and Guatemala was hit by an earthquake on Monday, magnitude of 6.0. No major damage or injuries in Guatemala either.
