Jamie McMurray won the Daytona 500 on Sunday, Daytona Beach, Florida.

This is the second win for McMurray for the Daytona 500 race and the fourth for his Sprint Cup Series career. Jamie McMurray is the ninth Different winner for all the 9 Daytona 500s and the 34th driver overall.

NASCAR needed two stoppages of well over two hours total to patch a pesky pothole between turns 1 and 2 of Daytona International Speedway. The setback brought the biggest race of the season to a frustrating halt and had NASCAR executives fretting over the potential fallout.

Here is a small narration on the race a couple minutes before the win. Kevin Harvick got the lead for the second and the final restart, but McMurray came in through past Harvick taking the lead on the second to the final lap. Earnhardt Jr. went through from 10th to second during the two lap shout out.
