It's Paczki Day. Paczki Day is basically a final indulgent celebration before the start of the Catholic Lent period. More specifically, it's a celebration of the plump fried donut filled with cream or gel made of various fruits, like raspberry.

Polish immigrants brought the paczki to the U.S. cities like Chicago, New York, Detroit and Hamtramck.. In recent years, it has absorbed Bangladeshis, Yemenis, African-Americans, and young white professionals. This morning, people arrived outside Hamtramck's Polish bakeries for paczki. The Hamtramck Moose Lodge scheduled a Paczki Day Breakfast.
