The theme of Tuesday night’s first showing for the American Idol Top 12 was fraught with tension.

American Idol” Top 12 took to the stage on Tuesday night for a two-hour concert of songs made famous by British rock band, the Rolling Stones.

Michael Lynche kicked off the tribute night with “Miss You.” Randy Jackson told him, “We are looking to see who is in this to win it. You have been good every week, but this reminded me how good a performer you are. You slayed it.”

Aaron sings “Angie” – Randy loved the tender moments in his performance and said it was hot. Ellen thought it was such a greatsong choice for him.

Crystal sings “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” – Randy said it wasn’t her best performance, but he loves her and she’s always great, didn’t disappoint. Ellen said it’s so effortless for her and it’s fun to watch her; liked to see the personality. Kara said it wasn’t her greatest, but she’s so comfortable and it’s easy to watch.
